The Lens of the Therapist
Our clients are people, not a set of problems to solve. We listen deeply and compassionately so that we can find the root cause together. We approach clients' challenges through the lenses of these research-based approaches while honoring the client's unique cultural experiences:
Attachment Theory: Many of our current challenges are often rooted in the way we learned how to handle stressors, trauma, and hard things as a child. How we were affirmed, what was modeled for us, etc.
Inner Child Work: "Our inner child is a representative of our subconscious emotional and mental pain. He is derived from people and events in our lives that resulted in trauma and/or neglect. Our inner child correlates adverse events and circumstances we face daily with painful memories of past events that seem similar." - S. Capparucci.
EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing: EMDR is effective in helping people heal from their traumatic experiences. EMDR can also be effective at helping reduce phobias, anxiety, etc. Clients are able to take lessons learned in session and apply them to their daily life.
We walk with people who find themselves challenged by:
-
Marital issues
-
Trauma
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Emotional regulation
-
Men's issues
-
Family of origin and generational issues
-
and others!
